Rain Chances Increasing - 08/13/13
We've now hit triple digits 16 days in a row at Camp Mabry and ABIA. We've also had 17 straight dry days at Camp Mabry. (ABIA broke its streak Saturday). Chances of putting these hot and dry streaks behind us are increasing. I'm trimming temps into the upper 90s and adjusting rain chances up to 30% for late Wednesday and Thursday. Why the change? A cold front in North Texas now looks like it will drop far enough south - a rare feat for mid August - to give Central Texas a little relief. For now, the farther north you are, the better the chance for relief. Rain totals from Wednesday through Saturday could reach 1/4" or more in some spots. While that's not a lot, it's better than nothing!
Wednesday: 30% late
Thursday: 30% - best chance late
TRIPLE DIGIT TEMPS
I'm forecasting one more day with triple digit heat Wednesday: 101. If the cold front indeed makes it this far south, we could see highs relax into the upper 90s all the way into next week!
