Sea Breeze Showers Chances - 08/21/13
Wednesday, August 21, 2013
Good news! I've got rain chances in the forecast every day for the next week. But...not everyone will get the showers and chances are fairly low. If you're in the Hill Country, you're LEAST likely to get the rain. If you're in the Plains from Bastrop to La Grange, you're MOST likely. That leaves the Austin area in between. Read on for more specifics.
Some spotty showers popped up Wednesday afternoon and we could see a repeat performance each day for the next week as Gulf Moisture streams in and sea breeze showers develop. The best bet for rain will be areas to the south and east each afternoon. Showers and isolated storms may develop around 2 PM and dissipate by 8 PM. I'm putting rain chances for the Austin area at 10% Thursday through Saturday, 20% Sunday, and 30% Monday and Tuesday. Over the course of the next week, we could get up to 1/2" of rain...but that's all dependent on some of these pop-up showers developing.
As for temps, we've now gone an entire week without hitting 100! I'm continuing that trend with upper 90s in the forecast for the next week. We could get close, though. I'm forecasting a high of 98 Thursday, and 99 both Friday and Saturday.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
