Two men robbing Austin taxi cab drivers

Police are searching for two men who held up two different cab drivers last week in Austin.

According to the Austin Police Department, two men took money from cab drivers by gunpoint in two incidents, once on Jan. 4 and once on Jan. 8. The robberies happened at 2401 S. Lakeshore Blvd. and on Pecan Springs Road, near East 51st Street and Springdale Road.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries.

Both men are described at tall, thin, medium-skin-toned black males in their early to mid 20’s. One of the suspects has a tattoo on the left side of his neck. One of the men was reportedly called “Tony”.

It is believed the suspects frequent the Riverside and the Manor Road and East 51st Street areas.

Police aren't saying which cab companies were involved in the robberies.
