Bettie's Box Office: Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

Breaking Dawn: Part 2 is a satisfying end for fans of the Twilight saga. Waiting for it to start, you probably won't hear anyone say: "This is my first Twilight movie!" So it doesn't waste any time bringing you up to speed on what's happened before.
Instead, it opens with Bella (Kristen Stewart) basking in the glow of becoming a new mother - oh, and also becoming a new vampire. While she's learning to deal with all of the changes that come with both roles, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is setting up house and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) bonds with baby Renesmee. Initially, the baby's face is computer-generated, which makes it a little creepy looking. I don't think that was the intent, but thankfully, the role is soon taken over by MacMackenzie Foy, who lives up to everything fans have read about Renesmee in the book.
As it turns out, there's a reason that you don't see a lot of kids in vampire families. Before long the Volturi, the vampires' ruling class, prepares to take out the entire Cullen clan. The Cullens put together an army of their own: vampires each with special powers and Jacob's pack of powerful werewolves. When they all get together, the fur really flies and people tend to lose their heads.

If you've ever seen a Twilight movie, then you already know what to expect in terms of cinematography, dialogue, and acting (including great work from Michael Sheen as the evil Aro). But you'll know how many people in the audience have read the books when you hear their gasps in the climactic standoff scene. (For me this was the highlight!)

And Twi-hards don’t be too anxious to leave. The director has a few surprises in store, including the end credits.

Breaking Dawn: Part 2 is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence including disturbing images, some sensuality and partial nudity. It opens Friday, November 16.
