Capital Metro Provides Options Getting To ACL Music Fest

Updated: Thursday, October 11 2012, 04:35 PM CDT

The Austin City Limits Music Festival begins Friday. So as you start making your plan for getting to and from the festival, we want you to have the details on Cap Metro’s bus schedule. Taking the bus or riding the bike is a great option and Cap Metro is set up to shuttle you to and from ACL.

The free shuttle service will run from Republic Square Park at 4th and Guadalupe Street to Zilker Park up to an hour after the last band leaves the stage Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Rather than worrying about parking around Republic Square Park, you can also use a bus to get you to the shuttle pick up and drop off spot.  There is no parking at Zilker Park so the shuttle option is one of the best.

You can also consider taking MetroRail into Downtown Austin which will operate its regular schedule Friday and Saturday night until midnight. The downtown station at 4th and Trinity Street is within walking distance to Republic Square Park.

For late-night traveling during ACL weekend, riders can also use Capital Metro's Night Owl and E-Bus routes.  They run until about 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Regular bus service will be detoured for route #30/Barton Creek around the Zilker Park area on 4th Street and also Barton Springs west of Lamar Boulevard from start of service Friday until end of service Sunday.
