Running December 12th through 16th for seven performances, Cirque du Soleil's longest-running touring show features 50 artists who explore the urban experience in all its forms.

Cirque du Soleil will return to the Cedar Park Center with Saltimbanco, playing from December 12th through 16th for seven performances only.  Advance discounted tickets for the Central Texas performances are available now online exclusively to Cirque Club members through August 23rd, and general public sales will begin on August 24th.

Cirque du Soleil's longest-running touring show, Saltimbanco - from the Italian "saltare in banco," which literally means "to jump on a bench" - explores the urban experience in all its myriad forms and is inspired by the urban fabric of the metropolis and its colorful inhabitants. Baroque in its artistic design, the show's eclectic cast of characters takes spectators into an imaginary city where diversity is a cause for hope.

The production has performed since 1992 to wide-spread acclaim to sell-out audiences in Europe, North and South America, Australia, Japan and New Zealand for more than 11.5 million patrons.  With a cast of 50 high-caliber artists hailing from 20 different countries, Saltimbanco features acrobatics that include the Chinese poles, Russian swing, bungees, trapeze, juggling and acrobatic bicycle.

From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil has become a major Québec-based organization with more than 5,000 employees, including more than 1,300 artists from close to 50 different countries. Since its founding, Cirque du Soleil has performed to more than 100 million spectators in nearly 300 cities in more than 40 countries on six continents.  In 2012, the company will present 21 different shows around the world.

Performances of Saltimbanco will run December 12th through 14th at 7:30 p.m., December 15th at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and December 16th at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.  Tickets range from $40 to $75 for adults, $32 to $65 for children 12 and under, and $36 to $67.50 for students, seniors and military.

Tickets are now on sale to Cirque Club members at www.CirqueClub.com.  Membership is free and benefits include access to advance tickets, special offers and exclusive behind the scenes information.  Tickets for the general public will be available starting August 24th at www.cirquedusoleil.com/saltimbanco, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1 (800) 745-3000.
