COTA To Host Austin July 4th Fireworks Show

Updated: Thursday, July 3 2014, 06:38 PM CDT

Plans are still on track to hold Austin's annual Fourth of July celebration at the Circuit of the Americas in Southeast Travis County.

It breaks a decades-long tradition of fireworks over Auditorium Shores.

That park is under renovation so organizers moved the show to COTA. That means a long drive for most spectators.

The Austin Symphony Orchestra is producing the event. It's promised to return to Auditorium Shores once the work there is finished.

The event is free to the public. The fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
