Following the success of their inaugural The SPACE Tour, Internet sensation Team StarKid has mounded a second national tour that stops for one night on Wed., May 16 at La Zona Rosa.

Featuring a cast of StarKid veterans, the Apocalyptour will include hits from the company’s comedy musicals A Very Potter Musical and Sequel, Me and My Dick and Starship, as well as their latest parody show Holy Musical B@man!.

In Apocalyptour, the StarKids will face-off against the “Mayan God of the Apocalypse” in an epic battle to save the planet. The brand-new concert experience includes songs not included on The SPACE Tour, as well as fresh arrangements and “mash-ups” of fan favorites. Music and lyrics were composed by StarKid co-founder Darren Criss (television's "Glee") along with A.J. Holmes, Nick Gage and Scott Lamps.  The tour is directed by Julia Albain, with music direction by Clark Baxtresser, production design by Corey Lubowich, lighting design by Sarah Petty, costumes by June Saito and choreography by Katie.

Returning for Apocalyptour will be the entire original cast of The SPACE Tour including Jaime Lyn Beatty, Brian Holden, Lauren Lopez, Joey Richter, Dylan Saunders, Meredith Stepien and Joseph Walker.  They will be joined by two new cast members - Jim Povolo and Brian Rosenthal.   The StarKids will be accompanied by a five-piece band of Charlene Kaye on guitar, Clark Baxtresser and Megan Cox on keyboards, Dave Scalia on drums and Tomek Miernowski on bass.

Returning to open for Team StarKid on tour will be Charlene Kaye and the Brilliant Eyes.  Equally inspired by classic pop greats - such as ABBA and Blondie - as well as current luminaries such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Rufus Wainwright, Kaye’s music is a mishmash of generations and genres.  She has toured relentlessly, played the SXSW Festival, opened for acts such as Minus the Bear, Holly Miranda, Big Boi and Darren Criss, and had her music featured on MTVU, The Huffington Post and NBC’s “Chuck.”

Tickets for the Austin show are $28 for general admission.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.  La Zona Rosa is located downtown at 612 West 4th Street.  For more information and tickets, visit www.FrontgateTickets.com.
