With more people than ever interested in courts of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, Texas Early Music Project launches their new season with masterpieces by the court composers from both rulers.

The Texas Early Music Project will celebrate the music of the Tudors with a pair of concerts on September 15th and 16th.  Lead by Artistic Director Daniel Johnson, "The Tudors: From Henry to Elizabeth" will be performed on Saturday at First English Lutheran Church and on Sunday at First Presbyterian Church.

Popular culture has been interested in all things Tudor in recent years, with more people than ever interested in the courts of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.  For their first concert of the season, the Texas Early Music Project will perform lively and heartfelt works written by Henry VIII himself, as well as masterpieces from the court composers from both rulers.

The ensemble will be joined by renowned regional singers for solo and small ensemble vocal works.   Viola da Gamba superstar, Mary Springfels, will lead the ensemble's consort of viols.

The opening concert will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 8 p.m. at the First English Lutheran Church, located at 3001 Whitis Avenue.  A matinee concert will be offered on Sunday, September 16th, at 3 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, located at 8001 Mesa Drive.

Tickets are $25 for general admission and $20 for seniors, with $5 tickets for students at the door.  For more information and to reserve tickets, call (512) 377-6961 or visit www.Early-Music.org.
