The event will feature Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell, who will be joined by Austin bands and ZACH performers in a revue that will include a special sneak peak at Ragtime.

ZACH Theatre will officially open the new Topfer Theatre on Saturday, September 29th, with the "Deep in the Heart" Gala.  The event will include Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell, ZACH performers, Austin bands and more.

The Broadway star of Ragtime and Tony Award winner for Kiss Me, Kate, Brian Stokes Mitchell will headline the gala event and will be joined by ZACH performers in a staged revue that will include a special sneak peak at the musical Ragtime.  The Broadway musical will launch the inaugural season on the Topfer Theatre stage, running October 17th through November 18th.

The campus-wide celebration will also include local musicians John Pointer, Ginger Leigh and Courtney Sanchez from RENT - along with Austin favorites Rick Trevino and Matt Wilson - performing on the transformed Kleberg stage.  DJ Manny will spin dance party grooves in the new People's Plaza Tent, along with performances by ZACH artists and alumni.  The progressive party will also include several of Austin's top food vendors in a variety of food stations throughout the newly-renovated ZACH campus.

The festivities begin at 6 p.m., with Brian Stokes Mitchell taking the stage at 7:30 p.m.   A second concert with Mitchell has also been added for later in the evening.

All-inclusive tickets are $200 for general admission and $300 for VIPs - who receive an exclusive after-party celebration with dancing under the stars plus live performances from Beehive stars Judy Arnold, Laura Benedict, Felicia Dinwiddie and Kia Dawn Fulton and Jill Blackwood with the Xanadu cast.

The ZACH Theatre campus is located at Lamar Boulevard and West Riverside Drive.  For more information and tickets, call (512) 476-0594, ext. 1, or visit www.ZachTheatre.org.
