Ann, An Affectionate Portrait Of Ann Richards

Updated: Friday, February 10 2012, 02:27 PM CST
Actress Holland Taylor of “Two and a Half Men” fame has developed something of a fascination with the late Texas Governor Ann Richards. Taylor wrote and stars in a one-woman play, “Ann, an Affectionate Portrait of Ann Richards,” based on the larger than life Texas politician. Taylor has staged the play in Austin and several other cities, including a stint at the Kennedy Center; and she plans to take the production to Broadway.

Meantime, Taylor is back in Austin for a conference called “Can Women Change Politics? The Life and Politics of Ann Richards”. Joining Taylor in the discussion is a panel that includes a University of Texas documentarian and a prominent Texas journalist. The forum will be held at the Moody Theater in downtown Austin Jan 31 starting at 6:30 p.m.
