Ruthie Foster Stops By Austin Live Before Show At Antone's

Updated: Friday, February 24 2012, 05:45 PM CST
Friday afternoon, Ruthie Foster took center stage on Austin Live, before she’ll wow the masses at Antone's for her CD Release Party.

Her new album, Let It Burn, released in late January was followed up by an NPR Weekend Edition story and the start of a U.S. tour on a co-bill with Paul Thorn.

A Grammy-nominated, Blues Music Award-and Austin Music Award-winning artist, Foster calls Texas home.

Highlighting Foster's strengths as an interpreter, Let It Burn covers of an eclectic group of songs originally performed by Adele, The Black Keys, Los Lobos, Johnny Cash, The Band, Pete Seeger, John Martyn, Robbie Robertson, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. The album also includes several new Ruthie Foster compositions.  In addition to tonight’s show, she also has shows in Austin during SxSW
