Tree Talk Winter Walk

Updated: Friday, February 10 2012, 02:27 PM CST
Despite the recent rains, the drought has severely damaged many of trees in Central Texas. So the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is hosting its annual Tree Talk Winter Walk this Saturday, January 28. You can learn the right way to care for your trees and get a unique look at one of the most spectacular live oaks at the Wildflower Center.

The annual Tree Talk Winter Walk is a perfect time to explore the beauty and benefits of native trees and shrubs. There will be guided walks and talks by experts on planting, pruning, and oak wilt. In addition, entertain the kids with a Kids Tree Climb sponsored by They Might Be Monkeys! Tree & Land Care and an educational tree scavenger hunt. TreeFolks will be providing native tree saplings to those who complete the scavenger hunt.
