'Holy Ghost People' As Narrative Feature

Updated: Friday, March 22 2013, 10:19 AM CDT

Directed by Mitchell Altieri, Holy Ghost People is a southern gothic thriller set in the Appalachian Mountains. Charlotte (Emma Greenwell) is a young woman who wants to find her missing sister, Liz, who is addicted to drugs. She recruits Wayne (Brendan McCarthy) to help her and along their journey they find the Church of One Accord. Brother Billy (Joe Egender, who also co-wrote) is the preacher of this snake handling church and his congregation will go to all ends following their salvation in the Holy Ghost even if it becomes fatal.

The acting is strong among every actor that signed on to this project. Finding out just what happened to Charlotte’s sister keeps you on the edge of your seat. The people of the Church of One Accord dress as if they were back on the prairie days, similar to M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village, but this is set in present day.
