Austin police say a fourth person has died from injuries sustained in the South by Southwest crash two weeks ago.
Deandre Tatum, 18, of Fort Worth, had been in a coma since a man fleeing from police crashed into a SXSW crowd at the intersection of Red River Street and 9th Street.
Police say the suspect, Rashad Owens of Killeen, was intoxicated and fleeing when he drove into the crowd. Steven Craenmehr, of the Netherlands, and Jamie West, of Austin, died in the initial accident that left more than 20 others hurt. Sandy Le, 26, died March 17.
Tatum and his girlfriend Curtisha Davis were both struck by Owens when he took a wrong turn down 9th Street and plowed through a crowd of SXSW revelers. Davis was seriously injured but is expected to make a full recovery.
Owens is facing a capital murder charge for the crash.
