Tragedy and heartache continues in the wake of the South by Southwest crash last Thursday in Downtown Austin.
Three days after a man plowed through a crowd and injured 23 people and has now killed a third victim. Sandy Le, 26, was in critical condition since the crash, but passed away Sunday night in the hospital.
Family and friends are trying to cope with the sudden loss. Eric Nagureny was Le's roommate. He said the two met in college.
"At first we didn't know what was going to happen, and now she's gone," Nagureny said. "It's been such a weird mix of emotion because there has been a lot of extreme sadness and anger, but then there is also been this weird hollow felling where you don't know what to fill it with."
Nagureny said he was not with Le the night of the crash, but he said she was on Red River with friends listening to music.
"A friend was able to track her down at the hospital, and that's how we found out about what condition she was in," Nagureny said.
Le moved to Austin in 2011 after she graduated from the Mississippi School of Mathematics and Science. She had plans to go to the University of Texas next year and then become a dentist.
"She was such a unique person," Nagureny said. "That's not a person that can be replaced; it's just not someone who can be replaced."
Le has three siblings. Her family has set up a Web site for donations to help with medical bills and funeral expenses:
