Austin Neighborhood Uses Street Art To Slow Drivers

In the Blackland neighborhood in East Austin residents are decorating the roads hoping drivers will slow down to take a look.

The cheerful design on the mural is a first for Austin. Other cities like Seattle and Portland have used the technique for years.

"I saw a couple of close calls and it was one of the things that prompted us to go ahead and do it," says Bo McCarver, the chairperson of the Blackland Community Development Corporation.
