Spot Crime Maps Show Positive Trends In Austin Crime

Overall crime was trending up in Austin between June and July, but in the last two weeks crime is trending down in the Capitol City.

The KEYE TV Spot Crime Maps show thefts had a dramatic drop.  Two weeks ago thefts were at 49 ending the week of August 12.  But, they dropped down to 338 ending the week of August 19th.

Assaults went down from 361 to 222.

And shootings are down from two to zero.

Crime in Round Rock has also been trending down in the last two weeks.
The spot crime maps show thefts are down from 58 to 30

Assaults are down from 19 to 12.

And burglary reports went from three to one.

And the low crime rate in San Marcos continues to stay relatively low.

In the last two weeks, thefts have gone down from three to one.

But, burglaries ticked up from one to two and assaults went up from zero to three.
