Suspected Child Sex Predators Busted In Central Texas

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 04:08 PM CDT

With guns drawn, agents took down a 31-year-old restaurant manager from Round Rock who was allegedly waiting for a sexual encounter with 15 year old girl.  Instead, Noel Santos Torres was face to face with machine guns and handcuffs.

In the wild west of cyber pornography and online child exploitation, the Texas Attorney General called on his top guns to round up eight suspected child sex predators in Central Texas.

With the help of the state's Cyber Crimes Unit, the FBI and the Round Rock Police Department, agents set up an online undercover sting.

Emmanuel Alejandro Gonzales, 27, was arrested in Round Rock for having sexually graphic online chats with someone he thought was a 15 year old girl. But, it was actually Cyber Crimes Unit officers on the other end of the keyboard

Richard Frias, 48, from Leander and 36-year-old Brian James Stewart from Round Rock were also arrested for trolling social networking sites looking for sexual encounters with children.

Four other men were also arrested in this sting. They are:

• William Albert Mower, 47, arrested June 10 in Round Rock
• Omar Mendo, 33, arrested June 10 in Round Rock
• Randy Salazar, 41, arrested June 7 in Leander
• Edwin E. Paxtor, 29, arrested June 18 in Pflugerville

Attorney General Greg Abbott says this bust is another warning to the community that, "Parents and law enforcement authorities must work cooperatively to educate children and teenagers about the potentially dangerous criminals hiding behind seemingly benign online profiles or online advertisements."
