UPDATE: Deputies Capture Driftwood Murder Suspect

Updated: Thursday, June 5 2014, 05:40 PM CDT

2:50 p.m. UPDATE: Deputies say Ramos has been taken into custody and is being treated at an area hospital for injuries sustained prior to his arrest.

--------------------------------------

ORIGINAL STORY:

Deputies in Hays County say a man suspected of murder in the small town of Driftwood Wednesday night is still on the loose.

The Hays County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Louis Antonio Ramos Jr. (pictured) is wanted for the murder of 47-year-old Johnny Lee Saxon.

Investigators say at around 8 p.m. Ramos got into an altercation with Saxon. Deputies later found Saxon, shot in the chest, near the 400 block of Todo Lane in Driftwood, but he died at the scene.

A vehicle driven by Ramos was found Thursday morning near the shooting scene in a wooded area, deputies say. Eyewitnesses say they saw Ramos walking with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators are asking for the public's help to apprehend Ramos. He has an extensive criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Call 9-1-1 immediately if you have any information regarding this case or Ramos' whereabouts.
