The Austin Fire Department said that the Oak Run Apartment fire was caused by a match left on a sofa. It caused $425,000 in structural and property damage

Fire officials say that bystanders rescued a woman on the first floor, who suffered second-degree burns on her hands and is being treated at University Medical Center at Brackenridge. Austin firefighters had to rescue a second woman from a balcony on the second floor.

There is still no word on how the fire, located at 1304 Summer Oak Drive near Banister Lane and Highway 71, started, but investigators are still sifting through the scene. Over 20 firetrucks responded to the fire, which took about an hour to put out.

The Austin Police Department said the hand grenade discovered in one of the units last night was a practice grenade. It is loaded with a fire cracker and used by the military for practice. They still don't know who it belongs to.

The Red Cross is providing food and hotel vouchers to the 16 people displaced by the fire.
