Updated: Tuesday, October 23 2012, 07:20 AM CDT

Whether you are a lifelong yoga practice or want to try it for the first time you can at the 2nd Austin Yolga Festival this weekend.

The event is free with optional workshops at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturday October 27. Times for Sunday, October 28 are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Austin’s finest yoga teachers will team up with national presenters to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga. In the family friendly space you can learn about the practice of yoga, listen to discussions by wellness providers, watch the films, listen to music, eat and shop. Expect two days of over 50 yoga classes and workshops.

Festival guidelines:

• Bring a yoga mat, and wear appropriate clothing.
• City ordinances prohibit smoking.
• No glass or Styrofoam containers.
• Always go at your own pace, respect your body and participate only in the classes you are certain you are prepared for, or ask for guidance.

The Festival will benefit those in need through our beneficiaries Capital Area Food Bank, Community Yoga, and the Amala Foundation.
