Austin House Of Torment Gears Up For Halloween

Halloween season is upon us. That means we will start to see ghosts, zombies and werewolves. Of course they are all fake.

It’s also time to test your fears. For the 10th year the House of Torment will be scaring people.

The 25,000 square feet haunted house is open from now until November 10th.

This year there are three separate attractions: Cursed - The Howling, The Awakening and The Slaughterhouse.

Here are some interesting facts you may have not known:
•    Over 20,000 man hours go into producing (redesigning, updating, constructing,) each attraction
•    Averages of 50 – 100 people lose control of their bladder and pee their pants (no joke!)
•    On average over 1000 new faces are added to the wall of shame (visitors who are too afraid to make it through)
•    Over 50 physical training sessions are held to condition actors
•    Custom costumes and characters can cost up to $4000 to produce
•    More than 50 gallons of latex used to produce masks and costumes
•    Over 10 gallons of gas used to fuel chainsaws (no blades, of course!)
