Central Texans Buzzing About New Cold Fusion Ice Cream

Texas' first and only liquid nitrogen ice cream has Central Texans buzzing with excitement. Owner, Konrad Bouffard started Bee's Freeze for one simple reason, he loves ice cream. With the help of Chef Aimee Chauveron, they've been able to create a line of creamy custard like ice creams made with fresh organic ingredients, sweetened with Round Rock Honey and absent of any preservatives.


Bouffard says the liquid nitrogen is perfectly safe. I asked Chef Aimee the difference between Bee's Freeze and another cold fusion ice cream we're all familiar with, Dippin' Dots.


"Dippin' Dots uses a lot of artificial ingredients where here at Bee's Freeze we try to stay as close to the cow as possible. Also, I freeze it to stay as a traditional ice cream where Dippin' Dots uses far more liquid nitrogen to get the small pellets of ice cream," says Chauveron.


You can taste Bee's Freeze at the Triangle Wednesday, September 25th from 3:00-7:00 pm, the Pecan Street Festival this weekend or at the Cedar Park Farmers Markets and Austin SFC Farmers Markets every Saturday.
