Dog TV Hopes To Click With Dog Owners

Coming to a TV near you, a TV channel dedicated to your dog.  And they're not talking about running shows about dogs; their actual target audience is dogs.  DogTV is designed to keep your dog company while you're at work.  The lineup includes segments to relax your dog.  Other segments stimulate your dog and help them socialize.

We brought some local dogs and their owners together to preview DogTV.  But in our viewing, DogTV's clips just didn't grab the attention of the canines.  The dog training expert in our group, Nolan Cruise, host of Mutts & Masters on AM 1370 and FM 96.3, says having other dogs present may have been a distraction.  Afterall, the dogs are used to watching TV in familiar settings with no other dogs present.  Cruise also commented that dogs may watch television just to be social with their owners by sharing their leisure activity.

DogTV is being tested right now as an "on demand" cable channel in San Diego, CA.  But you can stream DogTV clips from iTunes and directly from DogTV.
