Esther's Follies Adds Two New Illusions To Magic Lineup

Updated: Wednesday, December 4 2013, 09:32 AM CST

For 36 years, Esther's Follies on 6th Street has been entertaining Austinites. It's a magic, music and comedy show that continues to evolve.

Ray Anderson, longtime magician, has added to new illusions to his magic show.

"We're always constantly changing the magic in our show and the latest illusion is called Modern Art. Do you remember the puzzle that you used to get when you were a kid and you would slide the little pieces around to try and make it into a photo? It's sort of like that, but with a person," says Anderson.

Then there's Eclipse, an illusion where a woman disappears into a shadow of nothing.

"It's a large scale illusion that you might see in Vegas or Reno or somewhere, but here at Esther's you can see it up close and that's sort of a rarity in magic," says Anderson.

General admission to Esther's Follies is $24. Reserved seating is $29. You can see both these illusions on Thursdays at 8:00 pm or Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
