Girlstart Spooky Science Extravaganza Kicks Off Friday

Girls interested in some spooking science fun can get their safety goggles ready this weekend.
A local group, Girlstart, is getting girls interested in science, technology, engineering and math at an early age.
Over the past 10 years these types of jobs have grown 3 times as fast as non-STEM occupations. Studies have shown STEM jobs command higher wages and workers are less likely to experience joblessness because of the demand.
The Spooky Science Extravaganza kicks off Friday. Bring the whole family out for some eerie experiments and discover the science behind Halloween mysteries at one of the following locations.
