Old School Gaming Still In Play In Austin

Austin is the high tech capital of the world, and new video games are designed right here. But there are apparently a lot of people here who like their gaming old school. Pinballz Arcade in north Austin is their hangout. Gamers can find more than 100 different full size pinball arcade games. And there are just as many video games too from early models to the latest offerings. General Manager Sean Santoya says the big attraction to arcade games is the experience and the price. He says there's something about launching that metal ball and controlling mechanical flippers to keep the ball in play. And the price? Just 50 to 75 cents for most games. Santoya says the experienced gamers can keep the ball in play for half an hour, really getting their money's worth.
