Six Dead In OH Crash Involving Officer

An accident this morning in a suburb of Columbus, OH, involving an Upper Arlington Police Officer leaves six people dead, including a toddler.

According to WTTE, at around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning, the officer was responding to a robbery at a McDonald’s on Henderson Rd. Reports indicate he had lights and sirens on.  His cruiser then crashed into a vehicle carrying six people.

None of the six people were wearing seat belts. A man and five females, including a young child and teenager, died.  Jaws Of Life were deployed to extricate some of the victims of the car, others were ejected.

The officer was transported to an area hospital with severe head injuries but is expected to survive. 

No names are being released as of yet as the investigation continues.  The officer has been on the force for five years. No word on who caused the crash.
