South Congress Shop Satisfies Sweet Tooth & Taste For Nostalgia

Step into the Big Top Candy Shop and you're stepping into the past. The shop is decorated with circus sideshow memorabilia belonging to the owner, Brandon Hodge. There are also interesting faux antique musical instruments made by the proprietor. But the main attraction is the candy. Tons of it. All the classics are here and new favorites, too. And there are some novelty flavors that apparently have caught the public's fancy. Where else can you get bacon flavored candy and even chocolate flavored bacon. And-- oh yeah-- there's a soda fountain, too. The Big Top Candy Shop is located on South Congress Ave. in the heart of the SoCo shopping district.
