Students "Walk For The Water" This Saturday

This Saturday, April 28 Austin students will participate in the fundraiser “Walk for the Water.” The Legacy of Giving is teaming with the Gazelle Foundation to teach students about global access to clean water.
Legacy teachers, staff, students and families will walk a 3.7 mile course to show the distance a person in the developing world has to travel one way just to get clean water.
Educators say only part of the goal is raising money. The other part of the goal is to learn what philanthropy is. Teachers hope students will embrace giving-back to communities so communities can grow and develop anywhere in the world.
Students hope to raise $35,000. The proceeds will effort the building of a clean water system for people in the Songa region of Burundi, Africa.
