There's A Strategy To Campaigns Yard Signs

Updated: Monday, May 7 2012, 08:03 AM CDT
The city council campaigns are coming to a head and the primary elections are coming up later this month.  That has led to a bumper crop of campaign signs popping up all over town.  And if you've ever wondered why all the signs look alike, there's a reason for that.  Most of the campaigns are following the same basic guidelines in designing their yard signs.

The experts say:
--Keep the number of words to seven at most.  Drivers zooming past will only have only a few seconds to see what the sign is about.
--Use simple block fonts.  Fancy lettering will be harder to read quickly.
--Use colors that stand out.  Campaigns will be tempted to go with red, white and blue.  But going with a different color makes sure your sign doesn't blend in.
--Size matters.  Larger signs are more expsensive, but they command more attention.

And one thing campaigns need to be aware as time takes it toll.  Devote time to upkeep.  Wilting and sagging signs reflect poorly on the campaign. There's A Strategy To Campaigns Yard Signs
