Westlake Lacrosse Player Apologizes To Southwest Airlines Flight

Updated: Thursday, August 9 2012, 06:54 AM CDT
An Austin area student athlete is getting national attention, but it's not because of his talent.

The Westlake High School teen was traveling with the school lacrosse team. Mac Breedlove thought he was getting away with cutting in line to board a Southwest Airlines flight.

Breedlove’s coaches caught him sneaking on the plane ahead of his turn. Later, his coaches made an arrangement with the flight crew. The arrangement was a written apology the crafty line-hopper was to read over the PA system.

“During the boarding process I took advantage of this airline's kindness. When some of my teammates were called to the front of the line, I was not. And yet, I cut in line."

"I hope you will all find it in your hearts to forgive me. For I am just a young man that thinks I am smarter than I am.”

Breedlove’s video apology was then posted on YouTube. Since last Wednesday, August 1, the video has been viewed over 250-thousand times.
