GOP pack is trying to stop Mitt Romney before it's too late

At last night's debate in South Carolina, they ganged up on the frontrunner...slamming everything from his business background to his refusal to release his tax returns.

Romney rebutted, telling the other candidates, “What’s happened in history is that people have released them in April of the coming year and that’s probably what I’ll do.”

Romney's record at equity firm Bain Capital came under attack once again with Gingrich leading the pack declaring, “There was a pattern in some companies, a handful of them, of leaving them with enormous debt. I think he needs to answer that.”

Ron Paul defended his use of negative ads while Rick Santorum blasted Romney supporters for using them. “If I had something that the Super Pac that was supporting me was inaccurate then I would say stop it,” said Santorum.

But Romney insists he has no control over those groups. “I can’t tell these people and direct them to do that as you know because that would violate federal law.”

The fireworks aren't expected to die down anytime soon...the GOP contenders face off again on Thursday.GOP pack is trying to stop Mitt Romney before it's too late
