Jana Duty Defeats John Bradley In Williamson Co. DA Race

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 04:13 PM CDT
In the surprise of the night, Williamson County Attorney Jana Duty has defeated incumbent John Bradley in the race for the Republican nomination for Williamson County District Attorney.

This hard-fought race revolves around a single court case - that of Michael Morton, who wrongly spent 25 years in prison for the murder of his wife.

He was exonerated last fall, after spending the last five years fighting Bradley, who opposed DNA testing that ultimately set Morton free.

With 100 percent of the vote in, Duty won 55 to 45 percent lead.

She will face Democrat Ken Crain in the general election.Jana Duty Defeats John Bradley In Williamson Co. DA Race
