Total Voter Turnout Projected at 10% in Travis County

Saturday is Election Day for area cities and school districts. Travis County election officials continue to tally votes, with polls closing at 7 p.m. (details on polling location can be found at

Travis County election officials are breaking down the numbers and have released a preliminary turnout report, which is found in full below:

Travis County Election Turnout Report
-Voting has been steady through the day in Travis County.
 It appears that turnout will meet first projections for about 10 percent total turnout.
Turnout seems to distributed about equally between Early Voting and Election Day.
Approximately 23,400 votes were cast during early voting in person and by mail.

Note to Voters
Redistricting has created some challenges for voters who affected by new precinct lines and polling places.
 Voters heading to the polls in the last hour of voting are strongly urged to double-check their precinct number and polling place before going to vote.
Voters can identify their precinct number on their voter registration card.
Voters must vote in their registered precinct on Election Day.
Polls are open until 7:00 p.m.
