Wendy Davis For Governor Campaign Begins Slow Roll Out

State Sen. Wendy Davis said Wednesday that she will announce on Oct. 3 if she will run for Texas governor.

She sent an e-mail to supporters to spread the word and raise money which most believe has begun the slow roll out of her campaign for Texas governor.

In her message, Davis thanked her supporters and said she was excited about what they can do together in the future. The slow roll out has become a hallmark of modern campaigns that want to build buzz for their candidate.

Davis made worldwide news this summer when she filibustered  at the Texas Capitol against an abortion bill.

No Democrat has won statewide office in Texas in 20 years and experts say Davis will need to raise $40 million. Republican candidate Greg Abbott has raised $20 million.
