Bus Monitor Bullied

A YouTube video showing the harassment of an adult bus monitor is creating quite a stir.

The video shows several students verbally abusing and taunting an elderly female bus monitor, even bringing her to tears at one point. Police have not determined how many students are involved, but they say they are all Greece Athena students between 12 and 13 years old. At a press conference this afternoon, Greece Police and school officials said they are exploring the possibility of filing charges against the juvenile students. Police also say there are two other videos of separate incidents involving the same bus monitor.

The Greece School District has released a statement saying they received numerous calls and e-mails about the incident that apparently involves middle school students. The district says it is investigating along with the Greece Police Department to identify all students involved. The district also says its Bullying Response and Prevention Team has been activated and students involved will face disciplinary action.

An online fundraising campaign is generating funds to send Karen Klein on vacation. So far more that $3000 has been donated.
