It was the filibuster that cast Wendy Davis into the national spotlight.  Now on the one year anniversary of the it's firing up democrats once again.

They marked they occasion with a celebration at the Palmer Events center Wednesday night. It was broadcasts live to 200 other locations across the state.

There were familiar faces as State Senator Kirk Watson, and Cecile Richards took the stage.  There was also a familiar message from the state senator who launched a 13-hour filibuster. She even wore pink sneakers at Wednesday's event, as she did one year ago.

"We weren't silent then and we won't be silent now" Davis exclaimed from the podium.

One year later, dozens of clinics have closed statewide after the controversial bill was passed in another special session.

"They shutdown access to basic health services like birth control and life saving cancer screenings for yens of thousands of women when those centers closed" Davis said.

Davis and Lieutenant Governor Candidate Leticia Van de Putte hope that gets Texans as fired up as they were one year ago, and make their voices heard once again; This time in the voting booth.
