Kids Suspected In NE Travis County Crime Spree

Updated: Thursday, June 26 2014, 05:31 PM CDT

Diane Bresko lives in a modest home tucked away inside a seemingly quiet community.

"Look at the trees. I love all my neighbors they're all great people and they know me and I know them," said Bresko.

But the good times have gone bye bye.  Since the start of the year Travis County Sheriff Deputies have responded to Dessau Fountain Estates nearly 50 times --- half of the crime calls this month alone.

"It's terrifying.  I know one of my neighbors recently purchased a gun for her own safety," added Bresko.

Arming herself against the culprits believed to be kids.

"Yes it was right there.  We saw police arrest one little boy in front of my house and he didn't even look 12 or 13," recalled Bresko.

Over the weekend, deputies arrested four juveniles -- accused of vandalizing a car.  A neighbor captured two of the tweens on surveillance video.

"I seen the helicopter yesterday morning circling and circling and I was like what is going on," said Anna Santa Ana.

A couple of blocks away another home has been vandalized three times in one month, forcing the frustrated homeowner to board up the windows temporarily.

Neighbor Josue Ramirez heard the glass shatter.  He's worried his mom's home is next.

"I truly hope it stops.  I don't want anything to happen here, we have a baby," said Ramirez.

Deputies are conducting an "operation" in the neighborhood but wouldn't give any details.  They believe there may be additional suspects.
