Man Injured In Downtown Austin High-Rise Construction Accident

5 p.m. UPDATE: Police say something fell on the man as he was working on the 21st floor. He was wearing a hardhat.

Police say OSHA will be investigating the incident.

The man's current condition is unknown.



A man was seriously injured at a Downtown Austin high-rise construction site Friday afternoon.

It happened at around 4:15 p.m. at a building under construction at the intersection of 3rd and Colorado streets.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS the victim -- identified only as a man in his 30s -- suffered a traumatic injury on the 21st floor.

He was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with CPR in progress.

Further details on the incident were not immediately available. We have a crew at the scene and we will update this story as we learn more.
