Pot Field Found Near Sugar Land Airport

Updated: Wednesday, August 20 2014, 03:50 PM CDT
SUGAR LAND, TX (KHOU)-- Fort Bend County officials have raided a huge Marijuana growing operation that's been hidden near the Sugar Land Airport for months.

The massive field found near the Sugar Land Regional Airport, has many people in the area shocked.

"It makes me think about where we live differently," said Ashley Wallace.
The operation was hidden in a remote field.  Officers had to go by boat and ATVs to get there.
It all started around 8:30 a.m. when dozens of officers raided the field. Two men were seen running away. Police say one man even shot at an officer with a pellet gun.

Acres of Marijuana plants were found, some were up to 14 feet tall.

Evidence showed the two suspects camped out in the area for months, KHOU reported. They left behind everything including a radio, toiletries, soap, food, and clothes.

Police are still searching for the suspects.
