Prosecution Rests In Trial Of Former Leader HS Football Star

Updated: Friday, July 11 2014, 06:10 PM CDT

After three days of testimony the state finally rested its case against a former Leander High School football star accused of sexually assaulting two boys.

On Friday, Greg Kelley's defense called an expert witness to the stand to testify.

The psychologist told jurors it's not uncommon for children to make up what he calls "false memories."

"It's not that difficult to get a child to believe something took place. Could be something mundane like taking a picture with Roger Rabbit or something fantastical like being abducted by aliens. You can get children to think those things in one to two minutes," says psychologist Dr. Stephen Thome.

The defense is trying to get the jury to believe the two alleged victims made up the allegations.

Kelley is accused of molesting two boys at an in-house daycare he was living at in Cedar Park.
