UPDATE: Foster Children Drown In Lake Georgetown Sunday Afternoon

Mon. 11:30 a.m. UPDATE: Authorities now say the two victims were foster children.

We are working to gather more information.

UPDATE:  Both children died Sunday afternoon at Dell Children's Hospital at 6:30 p.m.

Two children cling to life after nearly drowning in Lake Georgetown Sunday afternoon.

According to the Georgetown Police Department, officers, along with Fire and Williamson County EMS, responded to a call at 5:13 p.m. at Russell Park at Lake Georgetown for a possible drowning.  Witnesses had pulled a six-year-old girl and four-year-old boy from the water and were performing CPR.

The girl reportedly had been under water for about five minutes and the boy was under for about 15 minutes.

Both children were found in approximately 2-3 feet of water.

EMS continued CPR until MediVac arrived. 

Both children were airlifted to Dell Children's Hospital.

The children are siblings and family members were on-scene.

The condition of the children is unknown at this time.
