UPDATE: Motorcyclist Killed In NW Austin Crash Identified

Investigators say a motorcycle was traveling at high rate of speed when it swerved in front of a F350 pick-up truck and was struck. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Christopher Gorubec, 34. Police say he was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Gorubec was not wearing a helmet.

The other driver was not injured, police say.

2:25 p.m. UPDATE: Austin-Travis County EMS officials say the crash happened in the northbound Hwy 183 service road at the Anderson Mill Road intersection. The victim was a motorcycle rider. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

EARLIER:

Police say they are investigating a fatal vehicle crash in Northwest Austin.

It happened at around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 183 and Anderson Mill Road.

Further details on the crash were not immediately available. We have a crew on the way to the scene and we will update this story as we learn more.
