UPDATED: Georgetown PD Investigating Attempted Aggravated Kidnapping

Updated: Thursday, June 26 2014, 03:25 PM CDT

The Georgetown Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a suspect who attempted to kidnap a child.

According to officials, at approximately 9:06 p.m. Friday night, a 12 year-old male reported that he was confronted by a Hispanic male driving a red SUV at the 900 block if N. Austin Ave.

The suspect exited the vehicle and told the victim to "get in the car." The child reported seeing something in the suspect's hand and believed it to be a knife.

The child ran to a nearby business and informed an employee what had happened. The driver returned to the vehicle and headed north on Austin Ave.

The vehicle is described as a red SUV, unknown make or model with aftermarket rims and a Dallas Cowboys sticker on the rear bumper.  There was also a white female with blonde hair and a pink shirt in the vehicle.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, around 30 years old, 5'9", 130 lbs, short dark hair and wearing "camo" pullover and tan pants.

Anyone with information on the suspect or vehicle is asked to contact Det. Bill Pascoe at 512-930-8407 or email atbill.pascoe@georgetown.org.

No other information is available at this time.
