Women Go Topless Downtown To Protest Inequality

Updated: Sunday, August 24 2014, 06:40 PM CDT

Women marched through downtown Austin today bare-chested as part of “Go Topless Day.”

The group was small but still turned plenty of heads, at Sixth and Congress, around noon today.

The movement is to protest inequality between men and women.

Protestors believe they have the same constitutional right as men to be bare-chested in public.

“I realize that society has sexualized a lot of things, but I must say, when I see men jogging in running shorts, I just see men jogging in running shorts, without a shirt because it's hot, and I want that privilege”, stated protester Kelly Rupp.

“Go Topless Pride Events” are going on in more than 60 cities worldwide today.
