Bees Delay Plane at North Carolina Airport

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 09:47 PM CDT

U.S. Airways passengers, flying from Charlotte, NC to Indianapolis, were grounded for a couple of hours Wednesday afternoon because of bees.

They say the pilot announced over the intercom that a swarm of bees were buzzing around the truck that pushes the plane back so it can head to the runway. The driver of that truck said he was afraid of being stung.

A beekeeper showed up at the airport to clear out the swarm, which took two hours. None of the bees got into the cabin, and no one was injured.
