Dare-Devil Woman Crosses the Line

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 09:47 PM CDT
It looks like something out of an action movie but actually it's a real-life stunt pulled off by a woman on a moving nylon rope.

What dare-devil Faith Dickey is doing is called slacklining. It’s like walking a tightrope only slack and bouncy.

This particular slacklining stunt involved walking a line between two semi-trucks hurtling down a highway towards a tunnel at 50 miles-per-hour.

The stunt was filmed for an advertisement for Volvo’s truck line.

Dickey is the women's world record holder in various categories of slacklining, which is why Volvo pursued her for what's called the ballerina stunt.  The object was to get across the line before the trucks got to the tunnel.
After three death-defying attempts Dickey was able to successfully complete the stunt.

Although some skeptics are insisting that the stunt is fake, both Dickey and the director of the ad confirm that it was indeed real.
