Paralyzed Bride Walks Down The Aisle

Updated: Thursday, August 15 2013, 11:02 AM CDT

A paralyzed bride in Ohio who vowed to walk down the aisle on her wedding day kept her promise Saturday.

Stevie Beale was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident seven years ago.  During her recovery, she vowed to walk on her wedding day.

The ceremony was held at the train station in downtown Toledo, Ohio because it had a tile floor which she needed for her wheelchair.

Beale’s determined spirit and hard work made for an inspirational walk down the aisle.  After the ceremony, her husband, Jared VanAusdale carried her down the aisle, excited to begin their future as husband and wife.

Stevie’s best friend, Briana Mullinger, says she couldn’t be more proud.  The friendship began three years ago when Briana lost her left leg in a train accident while walking to high school.  Stevie visited Briana at the hospital.  It’s also where she met her now husband, Jared, who she was introduced to Stevie by Mullinger.
